VALENCIA JOINS WIZZ AIR'S GROWING NETWORK OF BASES, MARKING A SIGNIFICANT STEP IN THE AIRLINE'S EXPANSION ACROSS SPAIN.
Wizz Air is proud to announce the opening of a new base at Valencia Airport, scheduled to commence operations on November 2 of this year. The establishment of the base represents a major investment in the region and underlines the airline’s long-term commitment to Spain. With 2 aircraft to be stationed in Valencia, Wizz Air will be well positioned to expand its network, offer even greater travel opportunities, and deliver enhanced operational efficiency for its customers.
A New Chapter for Wizz Air in Spain
The establishment of a base in Valencia reinforces the country's strategic importance within the airline's network. By basing aircraft locally, Wizz Air will launch 5 new domestic and 2 international routes, offering leisure and business travellers more choice, greater flexibility, and direct access to an expanding range of destinations across Europe.
The opening of the Valencia base is only the beginning as it creates the infrastructure needed to support continued expansion in the years ahead, strengthening Wizz Air's presence in Spain while bringing even greater connectivity to customers and local communities.
Expanding Further: Opening a base in Madrid
As part of its broader expansion strategy in Spain, Wizz Air is also pleased to confirm plans to establish a new base in Madrid. Together, the Valencia and Madrid bases represent an important step forward in Wizz Air’s ambition to strengthen connectivity across Spain and make affordable, sustainable air travel accessible to even more passengers. With these added capacities Wizz Air will also launch 7 new routes all across Spain and increase frequencies in multiple existing routes.

The base will initially be home to 2 aircraft from Wizz Air's modern fleet, further supporting the airline's commitment to operating one of Europe's youngest, most fuel-efficient fleets while improving operational efficiency and customer experience.

As part of this expansion, Wizz Air will recruit more than 80 new locally based cabin crew members and pilots to support operations in Valencia. The airline is looking for passionate aviation professionals to join its growing Spanish team, offering exciting long-term career opportunities in one of Europe's fastest-growing airlines.
