Wizz Air, Europe’s reliable airline, today celebrates its 22nd anniversary, marking more than two decades of growth, innovation and transformation in European aviation. Since its first flight in 2004, the airline has grown into one of Europe’s leading low-cost carriers and continues on a strong trajectory, connecting millions of passengers across an extensive network while steadily investing in modern technology, operational excellence and sustainability.
As part of the anniversary celebrations, Wizz Air is launching its brand-new podcast series, designed to bring the airline closer to customers and employees by sharing the stories, expertise and people behind the airline’s extensive and professional operations. The podcast aims to strengthen engagement and transparency while showcasing Wizz Air’s leadership in aviation, its reliable operations, sustainability and growth.

The first episode features Wizz Air’s CEO József Váradi, reflecting on the founding of the airline and the journey of the past 22 years. In the episode, he shares insights into the company’s earliest days, the story behind Wizz Air’s name, memories from the first flight and the highlights and challenges that shaped the airline’s growth into one of Europe’s most successful carriers. Future episodes will feature other executives of the airline, cabin crew colleagues, pilots, training centre experts and operational teams, covering topics such as operations control, customer experience, sustainability and much more.
The series will feature one episode per month during its first season, with each episode lasting 45–60 minutes. Episodes will be available on YouTube, Spotify and Apple Music, and the topics will range from aviation operations and customer experience to training, sustainability and career journeys within the company.
