Cancel your flight

You can cancel your reservation up to 3 hours prior to the scheduled departure time of the flight for a cancellation fee.

If you have purchased WIZZ Flex in the original reservation, you don't need to pay the flight cancellation fee, and you will receive a refund to your WIZZ Account in form of credits. Please note that the credits obtained though WIZZ Flex cannot be converted to cash.

HOW TO CANCEL

  1. Log in to your WIZZ Account.
  2. Select your booking by clicking "Details" under your flight.
  3. In the right corner of the Booking Overview page, click on "Make changes" button.
  4. Choose "Cancel flight".
  5. Select the flight(s) you wish to cancel (you can choose to cancel either one leg or both legs of your journey).
  6. Select the passengers for whom the cancellation will apply (you can select all passengers or individual travellers).
  7. Review the refundable amount, confirm the cancellation, and await for the refund to be processed. The refund processing may take up to 72 hours.

FLIGHT CANCELLATION LIMITATIONS

  • Any applicable refund will be issued within 72 hours.
  • If the original reservation was fully or partially paid by WIZZ voucher, the cancellation is possible only for all passengers and all flights at the same time.
  • For group bookings different method and rules apply. Please read more in the Group Booking page.
  • Services purchased from third parties during the reservation of the original flight (for example, insurance, airport transfer) are not amended automatically during the flight change process. To change these services, please contact directly the provider offering the given services.
  • If you are not able to carry out the cancellation through your WIZZ Account, you should contact our Live Chat or Call Centre Services.

The one-way flight can be cancelled online for all passengers or individual travellers up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight. Please note that the cancellation will be considered complete once the payment (if applicable) is received.

Depending on the time remaining before the flight, the cancellation fees differ. Find more details in the applicable payments section below.

With WIZZ Flex you can cancel your booking for all passengers or individuals online up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight and will receive a refund to your WIZZ Account.

If your travel plans changed, you can always modify the date, time, or destination of your flight to more suitable one. Please check more details in the Flight Change page.

CANCEL ONLY ONE FLIGHT

If you have booked a return flight (two-way reservation) and wish to cancel only one of the legs, you can do so online for all passengers or individual travellers up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight.

Please note that in case of a return flight with multiple passengers you cannot cancel one leg (flight) for one passenger only. For example, if there are 2 passengers on a Budapest-London-Budapest flight, you can either remove one passenger from both the Budapest-London and London-Budapest flights, cancel either of the Budapest-London or London-Budapest flights for both passengers, or cancel the entire trip.

Please note that you will not be able to cancel a flight that has already departed. However, you can still cancel and claim a refund for the second flight up to 3 hours before its departure. Cancellation fees apply.

CANCEL BOTH FLIGHTS

If you have booked a return flight (two-way reservation) and want to cancel the whole trip or either of the legs, you can do so online for all passengers or individual travellers up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight.

For return flights (two-way reservations), the following cancellations can be performed through your WIZZ Account up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight:

  • Cancel one of the flights for all passengers.
  • Cancel both flights for selected passengers only.
  • Cancel both flights for all passengers.
  • Cancel the second leg for all passengers after the 1st flight has departed.

Please note that you will not be able to cancel a flight that has already departed. However, you can still cancel and claim a refund for the second flight up to 3 hours before its departure. Cancellation fees apply.

With WIZZ Flex, you can cancel the booking for all passengers or individuals online up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure time and receive a refund to your WIZZ Account.

Please be aware that special rules may apply if the booking was created using the WIZZ Discount Club benefits. Refer to the Applicable payments section of this page for more information.

1. Change due to illness

If you have to change your travel plans due to illness, you may either change the flight or cancel it and get a partial refund. To request the refund or flight change, please submit a claim with a medical certificate or doctor's letter attached. Please choose "Cancellation of booking due to illness" as a subject (for both flight changes and cancellations).

Please note that the partial refund will be initiated only for:

  • the sick passenger;
  • an adult passenger and a child travelling with them – partial refund will be initiated for both passengers if either of them is sick;
  • The rest of the passengers on the same booking as a sick passenger can take the flight or cancel the flight and request refund. For these passengers, voluntary cancellation fees will be applicable.

2. Change due to death

If any of your immediate family members (mother, father, wife, husband, common law partner, sister, brother, grandparent, child, grandchild) have passed away up to 30 days before the departure date, you may cancel the flight and request a refund. To request the refund, please submit a claim with a death certificate attached or sent it to us within 7 days after claim submission. Please choose "Cancellation of booking due to death" as a subject.

If you purchased WIZZ Flex, you don't have to submit a claim. You can request a full refund or change your flight in your WIZZ account free of charge.

To protect yourself and your travel companions in the future, we recommend adding travel insurance when booking a flight.

  • With WIZZ Flex, you can cancel your booking for all passengers or individual travellers online up to 3 hours before the scheduled departure time. No flight cancellation fee will be charged in this case.

You can check the exact amount that would be refunded in case of voluntary cancellation in your WIZZ Account. The flight cancellation fee and refundable amount will be displayed in the end. No worries, the flight will not be changed or cancelled unless you accept the fees and confirm the changes.

In all the other cases, the below fees might be applicable when modifying the booking.

1. FLIGHT CANCELLATION FEE

The flight cancellation fee is dependent on days left until the departure and is charged per passenger per flight.

  • More than 14 days to go, cancellation fee: ‎€30.00 – ‎€120.00 per passenger per flight
  • Within 14 days to go, seat protection fee: ‎€50.00 – ‎€150.00 per passenger per flight

If you have purchased WIZZ Flex during the booking creation, no flight cancellation fee will be charged:

  • If the cancellation is made more than 14 days prior to departure, the passenger is entitled to the refund of the total fare after the deduction of the cancellation fee and the recovery of the WIZZ Discount Club benefits.
  • If the cancellation is made within 14 days prior to departure, the passenger is entitled to the refund of the total fare after the deduction of the seat protection fee, the recovery of the WIZZ Discount Club benefits and Other Services

2. RECOVERY OF WIZZ DISCOUNT CLUB BENEFITS

If a booking for multiple passengers was created using the WIZZ Discount Club (WDC) benefits and the WDC membership holder would like to cancel their flight, then the ticket difference between the regular and WDC ticket price and the regular and WDC baggage fee for all the other passengers will be withheld. In other words, if the WDC member cancels the booking, all the other passengers on the booking will lose WDC benefits and would have to pay the price difference between the regular fare or baggage and the discounted ones in addition to the flight cancellation fee.

3. PAYMENT AND REFUND AMOUNT

The cancellation fee and the recovery of the WIZZ Discount Club benefits amounts will be deducted from the amount paid for the passenger whose reservation is cancelled as follows:

  • If the amount paid for the passenger whose reservation is cancelled is higher than the fees related to the cancellation, the difference will be refunded to the WIZZ Account of the booking owner (the person who originally created the booking) in form of WIZZ credits.
  • If the amount paid for the passenger whose reservation is cancelled is lower than the fees related to the cancellation, only the recovery of the WIZZ Discount Club Benefits is to be paid.
  • If the amount paid for the passenger whose reservation is cancelled is equal to the fee related to the cancellation, no payment shall be made, and no refund is given.

    4. FURTHER IMPORTANT INFORMATION

    • If a refund was initiated to a WIZZ Account, all flights for all passengers included in the reservation will be cancelled and become invalid. After voluntary cancellation is performed online and WIZZ Account credit is requested, this process is irreversible, and no further modification is possible. The WIZZ credits cannot be later converted to the original payment method. WIZZ credits will be valid for 1 year. The WIZZ credits can be converted to the original payment method via Wizz Air Contact Centre.
    • If you originally paid for your booking with WIZZ credits, you can request refund only in the form of WIZZ credits – it is not possible to convert to another payment type.
    • If you purchased a Plus Fare or WIZZ Flex ticket, you may request a full refund. The paid amount will be refunded to your WIZZ Account in the form of credit. Please note that the price of the WIZZ Flex service will not be refunded to your WIZZ Account and its value will be deducted from the full purchase price. Please note that if the cancellation of the reservation is done with WIZZ Flex, the credits can be used within 90 days from the date of the refund.     • WIZZ Discount Club memberships and Privilege passes purchased during the reservation of the original flight will not be cancelled automatically with the cancellation of the reservation. Please check further details on WIZZ Discount Club and Privilege Pass.
    • Services purchased from third parties during the reservation of the original flight (e.g. insurance, airport transfer) are not cancelled automatically during the cancellation of the reservation. To cancel these services, please contact directly the third-party provider offering the given services.
